1. Understand the Type of Rose

There are more than 150 different species of roses out there to choose from, and especially people who are newer to rose gardening should make sure they are familiar with the type of rose they have in their garden or the ones they intend to plant.

Each variety of rose has nuances and will prefer certain things above others: But it’s also important to note at the same time that the differences between the varieties of roses aren’t that major and there are a few general rules and tips for growing roses that apply to most of the different types you’ll find.
