If you are looking for a great summer vegetable, the collard greens are a great choice. They taste just like summer savory and are full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. These tasty greens are high in potassium, fiber, protein, and calcium so they are good for your knees and strengthen your heart. You will find that these tender little vegetables grow well in either the kitchen or your garden. Here are some easy to follow grow tips for growing this great vegetable.

The first thing you want to do is make sure that your soil is ready to go when you plant your collard greens. If your soil is too dry it will not germinate and your plant will not grow properly. Once you have properly prepared your soil, you will need to make sure that you water the plant well so that there is no chance of the leaves turning brown.

When you have planted your collard greens, you will need to watch them closely to see if they are growing well. Check the leaves often for bruising, mildew, or insects, if any of these appear then you will need to give your cabbage plenty of care. Continue to water your cabbage well and you should have a healthy crop of cabbage in no time.

It is important that you know when to harvest your cabbage. The best time to pick the greens from your garden is when the weather is cooler. This means that you should pick the greens before the morning sun has come up. If the weather is warm, you will not pick your greens until after it has been cooler outside.

Cabbage is an easy vegetable to care for. You don’t need to spend hours out in the garden. You can easily grow this vegetable in your kitchen garden. All you need to be aware of is the right growing conditions, and the correct time of year to plant it.

There are a few other plants that can help grow your cabbage such as strawberries, herbs, and chives. Keep in mind that all of these plants require different amounts of sunlight, watering, and fertilization. If you cannot grow any of these plants then your only option will be to grow cabbage with other plants. This should be an easy task if you have the proper care for your plants.
