The Brussel Sprouts is a very important member of the Gemmifera Group of vegetables, usually grown for their edible leaves. The leafy vegetables are generally up to 1.5 inches in diameter and look like miniature cabbages. The Brussels sprouts were very popular in ancient Brussels, Belgium, from where it earned its name. These beautiful and tasty veggies can be eaten raw or cooked.

To assure a safe and successful harvest, the plants are normally started growing towards the end of August or the beginning of September. If you live in an area that has its own unique seasonal weather, this may vary depending on the time of year. For instance, the crop in the spring may be higher than normal during the summer. The best time to harvest the Brussel Sprouts is in the late fall or early winter.

When the plants are well established, it is important to harvest them. For optimal growth and quality, keep the soil moist at all times. Any excessive moisture is bad for both the plants and for the soil. You should try to avoid using pesticides when you are growing your own garden. However, if you must, you can apply a little soil fertilizer and spread some oil over the soil before you plant your crop.

Start off by removing all weeds from around your garden. After that, dig a hole about three to four feet deep and then place the plants into the hole. Cover the bottom of the hole with dirt and then begin cultivating the plants by hand. If your soil is very wet or extremely dry, you should wait until after the rains before harvesting your crops. Harvest your plants by hand so that you do not damage them by pulling or tugging. Once they are fully grown, you can dig a hole about three to four feet deep and place your cruciferous plants inside.

Be careful when harvesting your cabbage plants. Do not pull the plants too hard, or you will weaken the roots. Once the roots are weak, they will not grow properly. When the plants are small, they are more susceptible to fungal infections. To prevent fungal diseases, you should water your plants every few days. You should also check the soil regularly to make sure that it is still an ideal environment for your cabbage crop.

As you grow your plants, you will notice that they grow much faster than they did when you first started to grow them. They will reach full size in just a few short weeks. The reason that this occurs is because the plant uses up more of its own organic matter to create food than what it could produce on its own. As you continue to harvest your crops, you will notice that the sprouts are growing even larger in number.
