5. Tying and Stalking the Branches
When you are planting shrubs it is important to make sure that you stalk your plants throughout your yard. This is really important when the shrubs are weak and you are having difficulty keeping them up straight.
Supporting the plants in this way is how you will help them grow in the right direction. You should keep the plants stalked until the trunk of the plant becomes very strong. The stalk that you use should be around the same height as the shrub. A wire stalk that is heavily wrapped should be tied to the branches of the shrub.
Make sure that you use a cable that is covered with a hose in order to make sure that the bark of the shrub’s branches is protected from any grinding.
Taking the time to stalk the branches of the shrub will ensure that it grows properly and is strong.
