15 Step to Grow Mango in Your Garden

Do You Grow a Mango Plant? Like an orangutan can be grow from an orangutan seed, a mango tree can also be grown from a mango pod. However, you shouldn’t expect to be able to grow your own m Mangoes right away. It takes time to grow one. Here are some of the basic steps for growing a mango tree.

Prepare The Location: When it comes to mango trees, prepare the best location for the growing of your mango tree. There should be enough room around your container. The area must also be a shady place. In order to grow healthy mango trees, the soil type used on the container is important. It should have good drainage and it should be rich in nutrients.

Set Up The Container: To grow mango trees, the containers used for the plants should be large enough for the roots to grow comfortably. Your container shouldn’t be too small or it will take too long for the roots to grow. If it is too big, the roots may get tangled with each other which may result to dead roots. If the container is too small, the branches of the mango tree will grow out of the pot.

Get The Plants Ready: One of the most important things to keep in mind when you are growing a mango tree is that the plant needs plenty of sunlight during the day and the night. It should always be in a place where it can receive ample amount of water. In the summertime, it is advisable for you to put the container in direct sunlight or in a shaded area. The plants should always be in a place where it can receive plenty of ventilation. The soil of your container should be slightly moist but not wet. When it is extremely hot in the afternoon, you can move the plant outside, but in the evening, you should water it moderately.

Grafting: Mango fruit shoots can only grow for a short period of time if they are not properly taken care of. When grafting, the fruit shoots should be taken off just after they are fully developed. There are different types of grafts used to attach the fruits. One is the stem graft which is where the plant’s young leaves are removed and replaced on the stem. The second type is the graft that is made from hair. The last type is called a strand graft where the ends of the branches or trunks are plucked and joined using strings of hair.

Fertilize And Water: When the Mango starts to blossom, it will need more water than usual. For the first few days, just use your normal garden fertilizer. But after this time frame, use a heavy-duty fertilizer every day. On top of using fertilizer, watering your newly transplanted mango tree is very important so there are some instructions that you have to follow when caring for your newly transplanted mango tree. The most important thing you have to remember is that the longer it grows the more water and fertilizers you have to provide. And the best way to avoid this is to prune the Mango after it blooms so that new growth will take place.
